Primer registro de mujeres artistas visuales
mexicanas, mexico-americanas y chicanas en Los Ángeles

Convocan:
Se convoca a todas las creadoras de origen mexicano: mexicanas, mexico-americanas y chicanas en el condado de Los Ángeles a participar para hacer visible su quehacer artístico y construir un primer registro de mujeres artistas en Los Ángeles, California, Estados Unidos.
Invitamos a matricularse, a artistas visuales - pintoras, escultoras, grabadoras, perfomanceras, artesanas urbanas, diseñadoras gráficas, visuales, textiles, gestoras, curadoras, investigadoras, promotoras y disciplinas afines. El propósito es generar una primera matrícula de artistas visuales angelinas de origen mexicano en Los Ángeles, que funcione para conocernos, visibilizarnos y autodefinirnos ¿Qué hacen las artistas de este territorio?, ¿Desde cuándo estan presentes en la cultura visual de la región, generando piezas, objetos, reflexiones y proyectos?
We invite all female creators of Mexican origin: Mexican, Mexican American and Chicanas in Los Angeles County to make their artistic work visible and build a first registry of women artists in Los Angeles, California, United States.
We welcome all visual artists - painters, sculptors, engravers, performers, urban artisans, graphic designers, visual designers, textile designers, managers, curators, researchers, promoters and other related disciplines. The purpose is to generate a record of Los Angeles visual artists of Mexican origin, as well as to get to know each other, make ourselves visible, define and understand ourselves. Since when have we been present in the visual culture of the region, generating pieces, objects, reflections and projects? How do we do it?
Se planea realizar un proyecto expositivo que presente un registro de matriculación visible en contínuo crecimiento desplegado dentro de los muros de la Galería del Consulado General de México en Los Ángeles. La exposición tendrá tres etapas:

Recolección y visualización / marzo de 2023
Se extenderá sobre los muros la información recopilada colocando el registro de matrícula de cada artista. Se imprimirán los textos e imágenes enviadas por las artistas, tanto de obra como una foto de cada una, así como una breve semblanza.
Primera carga de material 7 y 8 de marzo.
Segunda carga 28 y 29 de marzo.
2. Lectura y análisis / abril de 2023
Con la participación de curadoras, artistas, gestoras, investigadoras, haremos asociaciones del material recopilado. Con los indicativos, por ejemplo, de edad/generación, disciplina, lugar, conceptos en común y geografía, se buscará observar, reflexionar y dialogar, para compartir el espacio de la galería con asuntos como:
¿Cuáles son las disciplinas más recurrentes por las artistas de origen mexicano en Los Ángeles? ¿Cuál ha sido la historia de las mujeres dentro de las artes visuales en este territorio? ¿Se reformula la patria en MATRIA con la producción simbólica del arte de estas mujeres?
Asimismo, se realizará un compendio electrónico con la información de todas las artistas visuales matriculadas.
3. Diálogo de mujeres artistas visuales de Los Ángeles y Baja California/ mayo
Con el interés de fortalecer y hacer visible el flujo de capitales artísticos y sociales en ambos lados, se realizará un encuentro entre artistas de ambas Californias.
A visible archive in continuous growth will be displayed within the walls of the Gallery at the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles. The exhibition project is planned to be carried out in three stages:

Collection and display / March 2023
The information collected will be displayed on the walls, showcasing the file of each artist. The texts and images sent by the artists will be printed, both of the work and a photo of each one, as well as a brief profile.

2. Reading and analysis / April 2023
With the participation of curators, artists, managers, researchers, we will make associations of the collected material. With the information, for example, age/generation, discipline, place, common concepts and geography, we will observe, reflect and dialogue on issues such as:
What are the most recurring disciplines by artists of Mexican origin in Los Angeles?
What has been the history of women within the visual arts in this territory?
Is the homeland reformulated into a motherland with the symbolic production of the art of these women?
Likewise, an electronic compendium will be created with the information of all registered visual artists.
3. Dialogue between women visual artists from Los Angeles and Baja California / May
We will hold a meeting between artists on both sides of the border with the interest of strengthening and making visible the flow of artistic and social capital in both countries.

Envía al correo que aparece abajo y en resolución para impresión por lo menos cinco imágenes, no más de 10, de obras de arte de la disciplina que quieras, las que tú consideres son representativas de tu trabajo; una foto tuya, la que te guste, en la posición que quieras, de perfil, de cara o cuerpo entero, y una semblanza de hasta 200 palabras. Puedes extenderte y enviarnos un dossier con CV y tus redes sociales.
