The Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles is honored to invite you to become part of our second cycle of “Ciclo de Cine Consular” (Consular Movie Club), where we aim to promote international cinema to yours and our local communities. This program is an opportunity to strengthen ties between our communities and to build communication bridges among diverse nations, as well as to manifest each unique expression of art through cinema.
The Consulate General of Ecuador is delighted to present the film "Mono con gallinas"
Believing that military experience will make him a strong and respected man, Jorge, a young Ecuadorian, joins the armed forces in the midst of his country's 1941 border war with Peru. Captured and imprisoned by enemy forces and given up for dead, Jorge faces neglect, hunger, and, possibly, even death as he recovers from his injuries. He will soon have to choose between escaping with fellow prisoner Hugo or staying at the camp under the care of the Peruvian nurse Dolores, with whom he's fallen in love. —Chicago Latino Film Festival Editors
