The Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles is honored to invite you to become part of our cinematographic project “Ciclo de Cine Consular” (Consular Movie Club), where we aim to promote international cinema to yours and our local communities. This program is an opportunity to strengthen ties between our communities and to build communication bridges among diverse nations, as well as to manifest each unique expression of art through cinema.

Synopsis

Peru is in the middle of a gastronomic revolution. Your army: miles of cooking students. Their leader: the Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio. Their weapons: centuries of ethnic fusion. In his documentary "De Ollas y Sueños", the well-known Peruvian director Ernesto Cabellos presents a spectacular cuisine of his country and asks: Is it possible that a nation is represented by its cuisine? This documentary document refers to the cuisines of the coast, highlands and jungle of Peru, as well as the Peruvian expatriate communities in Paris, London, Amsterdam and New York in search of answers.

This event its open and free to all public.
