Flying Home, Scarlet Macaw tells the story of the re-introduction of Scarlet Macaw in Palenque, Mexico, an area where the specie disappeared 85 years ago. A project that has taken more than 20 years of development and which have achieved many successes regarding the protection and care of the species, including being the first reintroduction project in Mexico and one of the first in the world.
The documentary looks at the most important moments in history from the voice of the experts, relating the species with its historical past during the Mayan empire, it witnesses to the time when the birds were returned to their natural environment since 2013.
