Through interviews, archival materials, and his artwork, the film traces his journey in Los Angeles and explores themes of migration, identity, memory, and creation, including his remarkable recovery from Guillain-Barré Syndrome. His artistic vision transforms elements of his surroundings into symbols layered with multiple meanings. Among them is Los Angeles City Hall, a recurring motif in his work that De Batuc portrays as a tall, narrow structure, inviting political, social, and even irreverent interpretations.
